Quick Tips Volume 1 (+ Arrow micro-rant)

Quick Tips 1

So I’m thinking of making this a series – just a really quick post where I share some of my best beauty tips that I think people might find handy. Thoughts? Yay, nay?

Anyway, on to the tips!

  • Know your skin type. Dry, oily, combination, sensitive – there are products out there for all types. And not just skincare products, either. Knowing your skin type is important when choosing makeup, too. Dry skin, for example, isn’t going to look good with a super-mattifying powder foundation. Oily skin is going to get real shiny real quick in a very dewy foundation. Use products that work with your skin type, not against it.
  • Blending your eyeshadow is the easiest, quickest way to make it look like you have a makeup artist who lives under your bed and helped you get ready this morning. (Creepy.) Any fluffy blending brush will do, but make sure it’s soft because you might be blending for a while and eye-skin is fragile. I like Sigma E40.
  • Use a creamy concealer under the eyes to avoid creasing. I like Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in “Amande”. Use a drier concealer for spot concealing (like blemishes and scarring); they tend to be more pigmented and stick where you put them. For this, I like MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC 45. It’s super sticky and pigmented, and comes in a wide variety of shades.

    That’s it for now!

In other news, I am super annoyed with Arrow.

I couldn’t even finish watching last week’s episode. The Sarah storyline is just too much for me. She survived? She was on The Island too? She’s an assassin?

    Ridiculous. I can’t.

If one more person said “The Island”, I swear I was going to throw my laptop across the room.

I guess I’ll try to finish watching it, but I don’t want to. And I can’t say I’ll like it. Maybe it’ll pick up once we get past the Sarah bit.
