Review: Doctor Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Bright Dark Circle Minimizer (Eye Cream)

Mega-Bright Eye Cream
New launches from Origins always get me excited.

New launches from the Mega-Bright line get me doubly excited.

The Mega-Bright eye cream* is brand new. I always thought this line should have an eye cream, and now it does.

I’ve been using it for about two weeks now, which is about how long it takes me to know how I feel about a skincare product. And so far I really like it!

I’m picky about my eye creams. Under-eye circles are my main concern. Because I have an oilier eye region, hydration isn’t really an issue for me. In fact, if my eye cream is too rich, I end up with milia (little bumps from clogged pores) under my eyes. An Origins eye cream has done this to me before. I ditched it (read: pawned it off on my aunt…in the most loving way possible).

So my ideal eye cream has to be light and brightening. I was looking for a nighttime eye cream because I use Origins GinZing in the daytime, and this one is fantastic. Mega-Bright is supposed to lighten dark circles in the long run, whereas GinZing lightens them instantly. I like GinZing under makeup and Mega-Bright at night for long-term lightening.

I do notice a bit of lightening of my dark circles, and I’ve been going out without concealer under there, which I don’t normally do.

Hurray for no makeup at all!

That may seem like an odd thing to say on a makeup blog, but skincare is my true love. I feel like, the better your skin is, the less you’ll need base products (foundation, concealer, etc) to get you looking great. And this eye cream really does that for me; I can forego concealer when I don’t feel like doing face makeup.

Mega-Bright eye cream gets a thumbs up from me. Extra thumbs up for cute packaging (just like the rest of the Mega-Bright line)!

So glad that I found a review on this product! Any additional thoughts on the product? I have been struggling with dark circles for so long, and I am dying to find a product that will help brighten them even a little bit!

  2. Hi Kate! I still love this eye cream a month after reviewing it. It doesn’t give instant results, but you’ll see them in the long run. Definitely worth a try. If you want instant brightening, go with Origins Ginzing eye cream, but it’s only a morning eye cream (because there’s actually pigment in it).
