Dusting Powder Is Underrated

Lush Silky Underwear Dusting Powder

Forgive me if things get weird in this post.

I ran out of my all-time favourite dusting powder, Lush’s Silky Underwear, literally months ago. I didn’t repurchase right away because I have a massive bottle of Johnson’s Lavender Vanilla Baby Powder on the go from literally years ago, but nothing beats Silky Underwear. I missed it and caved, and ended up repurchasing it about two weeks ago.

It’s my favourite for a variety of reasons. Do you ever use a product or wear a perfume and remember a particular time or person in your life? If you do, then you’ll know what I’m talking about. My mom used this powder when I was little, and would sometimes use it on me too, so it reminds me of her.

Another reason I love it is the smell. The Lush site describes the notes as jasmine, vetiver, and cocoa butter. Although jasmine and vetiver can sometimes be overwhelming, the powderiness of the powder (at the risk of being obvious) keeps everything soft and lovely.

That aside, it’s functional. A dusting of powder post-shower or bath gets rid of excess moisture. Said excess moisture drives me nuts in the summer – I don’t need any more stickiness, thank you. It was recently repackaged, and the bottle is much better than the old, spill-prone box. At $9.95, it’s very reasonably priced.

What’s not to love? If you like feeling powdery and smooth and dry after your shower, and smelling fab to boot, you should give this a try next time you’re in Lush.
