That Scary Blush

Nars Exhibit A Full Product Photo

Let me preface this by saying that I love neutrals, in clothing and in makeup. Makeup artists always steer me towards colour because folks with dark skin can pull of vibrant shades a bit easier than those with very light skin. So maybe it’s the rebel in me that makes me shy away from colour, or maybe it’s just because I feel best in shades of brown, bronze, and beige. In terms of blush, I love my plummy pinks and peaches as much as the next makeup-obsessed human. But since I first saw it, I’ve always been equal parts intrigued and terrified of one blush in particular: Nars Exhibit A. Read more!

The Sheer Base for Drier Skin

NARS Tinted Moisturizer Bottle

I love skincare – more than I love makeup. What’s more, I like the way my skin looks – I invest in glow-inducing products and I want to let that shine through most of the time. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but sometimes, a product is so horrendously bad that I feel like it is my duty as a blogger to let my readers know about it. I’ve felt this way about a few products in the past. This goes beyond disappointment – I thought this was just plain bad. Read more…

My YSL Collection

YSL collection uncapped

Usually, when I spend $40+ on a beauty product, it’s a palette of some sort.

But in recent years, I’ve been occasionally spending more than I’d care to admit on luxury lip products that make MAC lipsticks look cheap.

YSL beauty products are about as high end luxury as I’ll go, and I fully acknowledge that the prices are ridiculous. We’re talking around $40 for a lipstick, and $50 for the famous Touche Éclat. Read more…
