The Sheer Base for Drier Skin

NARS Tinted Moisturizer Bottle

I love skincare – more than I love makeup. What’s more, I like the way my skin looks – I invest in glow-inducing products and I want to let that shine through most of the time. That’s why I like sheer foundations and BB creams so much; I can get a little bit of coverage just to even things out, but still can see the healthy glow and texture to my skin. Read more…

The Fall Skincare Shuffle

Fall Skincare Shuffle

I don’t have classically combination skin in the oily-T-zone-dry-cheeks sense. My skin can get oily in the T-zone, but I also have dry patches in between my brows and around my mouth/chin area. Not classically combo, but combo (and complicated!) nonetheless.

While it leans oily in the summertime, it definitely starts to get dry and lackluster in the winter. As we head into the colder months, I’m starting to incorporate products that pack a seriously hydrating punch into my routine. For now, I’m sticking with a lighter moisturizer for daytime (when I can still get oily), but a few key hydration boosters have been shuffled in here and there. Read more!

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate

A Kiehl’s store opened near me recently, and although I had never tried anything from the brand before, I’d heard amazing things about their Midnight Recovery Concentrate.

I wasn’t 100% sure of what it was, and to tell you the truth, I’m still not sure. But after using it for a while, I’ll do my very best to describe what it is and the results I’ve seen from it. Read more!

The Shave Cream for Those Who Hate Shaving…

EOS Shaving Cream

I hate shaving, I really do. Even in the summer, I really only shave my legs every five days or so because it makes my skin really irritated. Seriously. Every time I’d shave my legs, they’d burn and sting for a day or so afterwards. Awful.

This post is part review, part public service announcement.

Most high-end beauty lovers know how Sephora’s Beauty Insider works – sign up for free, collect points every time you make a purchase, cash them in for deluxe samples in set increments, and get a bonus birthday gift. I’ve been part of this program for years – I remember when only 100-point samples were available. Since then, they’ve expanded the program so that you can redeem in 250, 500, and even 1000-point increments. Read more!

The Underrated Lip Balm

Clinique Lip Balm closedClinique Lip Balm open

When it comes to lip products, I’m a little high-maintenance. Or, rather, my lips are. There are very few products that agree with them and don’t make them flake and peel like crazy. Even so-called hydrating formulas don’t work for me. As such, it’s remarkably difficult to find lip balms that work. When I do, I have to share. Read more!

Glow-ly Cow!

Caudalie Serum

I know, I know. Bad pun. But stick with me, will ya?

If you’ve read my skincare posts before, you’ll know that I’m especially fond of radiance-boosting products. (Exhibit A. Exhibit B. Exhibit C. And that’s just for starters…) Needless to say, I’m a little obsessed with getting my skin as even and glowy as I possibly can. Between naturally uneven skintone and acne scars from even the most minor of breakouts, it can get kind of dicey. Read more!
